Just because the Washington Redskins may be done pursing wide receivers in free agency doesn't mean owner Dan Snyder isn't still chasing guys who catch passes for a living.

On Tuesday, the same day Redskins officials grew sufficiently frustrated over the stalled negotiations with Raghib Ismail to abandon their pursuit of the veteran wide receiver, ESPN.com learned Snyder opened a dialogue with the agent for tight end Ernie Conwell.

An unrestricted free agent and seven-year veteran, Conwell is arguably the best tight end, and perhaps one of the best players at any offensive position, still available in the talent pool.
