    Redskins interested in TE Conwell

    Just because the Washington Redskins may be done pursing wide receivers in free agency doesn't mean owner Dan Snyder isn't still chasing guys who catch passes for a living.

    On Tuesday, the same day Redskins officials grew sufficiently frustrated over the stalled negotiations with Raghib Ismail to abandon their pursuit of the veteran wide receiver, ESPN.com learned Snyder opened a dialogue with the agent for tight end Ernie Conwell.

    An unrestricted free agent and seven-year veteran, Conwell is arguably the best tight end, and perhaps one of the best players at any offensive position, still available in the talent pool. Snyder spoke briefly by phone on Tuesday evening with agent Mike Sullivan of Octogon, who represents Conwell, to gauge the player's contract expectations.
