Durable run blocker. Don't feed me the line that he doesn't fit the scheme.
The scheme goes out the window half the time anyway.

Atlanta is how bad? And they cut this guy?

Something tells me I am in no rush to sign him

ACtually Atlanta's DL is pretty good. They have Jamal Anderson and John Abraham at DE and then they have Rod Coleman, Johnathan Babineaux, and Trey Lewis the rookie who has played well. They just dont need Grady Jackson. I bet Denver signs him.

Pass, he's done and has nothing left to offer.

He's got 19 solo tackles and 1 sack. I doubt he's done. He could do a lot for a team like Denver who is last against the run or in Cleveland to spell Washington at the nose.

He's far from done. I bet Denver signs him as well.

Why do teams keep releasing him, if he's so talented ?

Once you find a younger player who can do his job theres no reason to keep him. For those teams who dont have that younger guy though he can be a great addition.

I don't think Buffalo is in any position to pass on a guy like Jackson. He could really help shore up the middle of this defense. The dude is leading Atlanta's d-lineman in tackles with 21 and has 5 1/2 tackles for losses. Sounds good to me. Maybe they can use some of that $3 Million they don't have to pay Losman.

I think he would do well here in the rotation. We just cut Tim Anderson.

Great run stuffing- goal line, 3rd an 1-2 yards. 3 million/year. A one year contract with our option for a second year.
we know we have the cap space.

Update from the Tennessean:

The agent for former Falcons DT Grady Jackson said the Titans are among the teams interested in the 11-year veteran.

Jackson was released by the Falcons this week in what appeared to be a move with an eye towards the future. Last season Jackson led the NFL with 13 tackles for a loss and this season he had 5 1/2 tackles for a loss and one sack. Adding Jackson would make the Titans stout run defense even more formidable.

I don't see how he couldn't help us. And I read somewhere that the vets in the locker room were pretty pissed that he was cut.

We are dumbif we don't at least consider it. If we did, we would realize that Tripplett should be next on the chopping block. The guy is a step above Tim Anderson, and that isn't exactly saying much.

I couldn't complain if they brought him in.

He has to be decent to survive in the NFL for 11 seasons.

Tripplett has been playing better lately, McCargo has outplayed him though.

May be playing better as of lately, but it's not like he is starting to just "get" football. He is a veteran and has never really showed anything other than what he is doing. McCargo should be in there more than Tripplett. I bet you would see a big difference on the field.

Free Agent NT Grady Jackson is meeting with the Jaguars and is close to signing a one-year contract, according to head coach Jack Del Rio.
"We hope to get him signed today," Del Rio said. "He'll help us with depth." The Jaguars would be adding another strong run stopper to their formidable duo of DT's John Henderson and Marcus Stroud. The 11-year veteran was released by the Falcons last week after starting in 22 of 23 games during his two-year stint.

I agree, he's playing better, and by that I mean he gets in the backfield 1-2 times a game instead of 0 times a game.
