Dolphins' Thomas in car accident
Linebacker could miss London trip due to whiplash
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- Middle linebacker Zach Thomas (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/players/3569) might not make the Dolphins' trip to London because he was in a minor car accident.
"There's potential for whiplash and that is what we're looking into, to my knowledge," Miami coach Cam Cameron said.
Thomas and his wife were leaving the Dolphins' 49-28 loss to the New England Patriots (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/teams/patriots) last weekend when their vehicle was rear-ended on the turnpike. They were unhurt at the time, although Thomas, who missed two consecutive games this season because of a concussion, was tested for the injury Wednesday in Pittsburgh.
"I don't want to speculate," Cameron said. "We don't know. That's why we sent him there. If we knew something more specific, I would tell you. But we will know exactly tomorrow what the findings are."
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Thomas and his wife were not at fault when they were rear-ended in stop-and-go traffic by a driver wearing Patriots attire.
