    Edwards practicing as #2

    Today
Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 12:09 PM ET | Link

PRACTICE UPDATE: As we already reported Trent Edwards is back practicing as the #2. He's throwing passes.
Not practicing is Derek Schouman who was watching on the sidelines with his right leg in an immobilizer boot. Dick Jauron said Monday it was an ankle problem.
"It was an ankle and I’m not sure what they’re going to call it," said Jauron Monday. "You hate to have them put that one term on it. We’ll have to wait and see."
Looking at Schouman in an immobilizer boot it looks as though it is a high ankle sprain. Further evidence that Schouman won't be available this week is Matt Murphy is back working at tight end and wearing jersey number 87. He had been working the past few weeks at offensive tackle.
John DiGiorgio is not practicing as well as Roscoe Parrish.

Gaines and Royal have been playing well at TE but Schouman is the best we have as far as the H-Back.

I'm glad Edwards is practicing as the #2 because putting Hamden on the field scares the **** out of me.

It's good to know that he is healthy again, he is a great insurance policy to Losman.

I agree, I like Schouman. Granted, he hasn't had many receptions or rushing attempts but I still think that he is starting to come on strong.

He won't be throwing bombs silly, they will be hidden in his cleats.

The story right now should be how is DIGORGIO, our STARTING MLB?

Who starts if he can't go? Joe?

I think I'd rather see Crowell moved to the middle and put Haggan at SLB.

don't worry, we have 220 lb Coy Wire waiting in the wings....

Actually, I think Wire's been solid at LB but I'd rather see him on the outside- his size is somewhat of a limitation at OLB and a big liabililty at MLB, particularly against teams that run the ball well. And Miami has been running the ball well despite their awful record. (granted, that was before Ronnie Brown went down, so we'll see).

Chatman has been running the ball well too. I think he's looked pretty good, from what limited plays I've seen. I watched the 2nd half of their game against the Giants and he looked like their best player.
