Jauron says Losman to Remain Starter

If Losman keeps playing well, he's got the job, so says Jauron.

Bills coach Dick Jauron says J.P. Losman will continue to be the team's starter as long as he's playing well, regardless of Trent Edwards' health.

Question, does anyone know if it's stipulated in JP's contract that he can void his last year of contract?

      Thanks for the link.

unfortunately, that can be read 1 of 2 ways.

      1. We like what we see, and are willing to do what is necessary to win. As long as JP plays well, he'll be our guy.

      2. We need need to start coming up with reasons that JP isnt playing well (for instance if the pats kill us on national television)

Great news! I'm glad that Dick will admit his mistakes...

I also like that it keeps pushing JP Losman, so he continues to play angry and the hardest he can.

This is the right move, even if your a trent edwards fan. Losman must be the guy right now. He has a top 5 arm in the league and he can run if needed. He's ability to throw the long ball opens up the running game for beast mode!!!!!! The same game plan this week as last. Throw deep early then let lynch control the second half. This is the winning formula for the bills.

              Dick says.....

"I think we'll just keep moving along here and hopefully we won't change a lot," said Jauron concerning the quarterback position. "But we don't know. We don't know the answer to that. Again, it's not like we're looking for a quarterback. We feel like we have at least two that we think can play and hopefully win in this league."
In other words, if JP doesn't perform, Jauron won't hesitate to bench him in favor of TE again.

i'm happy with this move. i think Losman performs better when he's under pressure. And this gives TE some time to develop before expecting him to be our starting QB. As long as Losman is winning, we all win.

I like Edwards but if JP keeps playing well then keep him in I say. I just wish we'd really settle on one guy though. I guess JP can't be too comfortable as a starter in order to get him to play well.

Sounds great, let's win them all and see how it pans out. This might end up being the fire under JP's ass where he knows nothing is a given and the next game maybe his last.

I hope JP uses this as motivation and DJ as a motivator.

It's the same situation from a few weeks ago in reverse.

                    Dick likes a hot hand.

Even as a pro Edwards guy - The Answer admits that it very well may be Losman's time to shine and become the QB many fans expected him to be this season.

Go Losman - and let's get to the playoffs and make some noise!

Hard to argue with the logic. I would do the exact same thing Jauron is doing.

I think JP has the next 3 weeks, if he wins at Miami and plays well, and even if he plays like crap against NE, I think he stays in for the week after in Jax. Now if he stinks it up in Jax, then I think Edwards comes in against the Redskins. But in all honesty, I really see this playin out that JP plays the rest of the way and the only way he comes out is if we are out of the playoff race at some point a couple games before the end of the season and we just give it to Edwards to finish the job. But this still begs the question...if, and this is a big if, JP does everything he can and the Bills make the playoffs or even JUST MISS the playoffs...does Ralph resign JP, does Ralph let JP play out next year also and make his decision at the end of next season?
