The Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have recalled Clarke MacArthur from the Rochester Americans.

MacArthur, Buffalo’s third round pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft (74th overall), leads the American Hockey League with 18 points (8+10) in 15 games this season.

MacArthur will skate on a line with Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht against Boston on Wednesday night, according to Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff.

"Any time you bring up a player like Clarke - he's been going really well down [in Rochester] - we're hoping to get a little jump start from him," said Ruff.

This is the third time the 22-year-old center will wear a Sabres uniform, recalled in 2006-07 for two stints, scoring a total three goals and four assists in 19 games. He made his NHL debut Dec. 19, 2006 against the Montreal Canadiens.

"It always helps [confidence]," said MacArthur regarding success in the AHL. "I'm just going to go out, do my job, and hopefully, we get a few [goals] tonight."

MacArthur led the Amerks in scoring last season with 63 points (21+42) in 51 games. He was also selected to the Memorial Cup Tournament All-Star Team in 2004, as well as the WHL East First All-Star Team in 2005.
