The Real Deal On a New Stadium In Buffalo

A new Stadium in Buffalo is unlikely unless there is a change in qownership in Buffalo.

Ok Let's examine some key facts....The bills current stadium was Built in 1973..Making it 34 years old.....IT WAS BUILT FOR 22 MILLION DOLLARS.

Many changes have been made since 1984.. The inclusion of many suites and And a HD scoreboard....Plus don't forget about the Indoor Practice Facility....

Ralph has said that he is not selling the team....So In order for Jimbo and Jack to buy Wilson has to change his mind...Why would he ?

One Word -Legacy...Old people tend to think about it a lot bin the latter years...

How will I be remembered when i die... ?

As the guy that died and thus the Bills moved away or as the Guy that sold the team to The most popular Bill player ever. well to a group of investors led by Jim Kelly. ( THE FRONT GUY)

Most Bills fans have that slim glimmer of hope that Wilson really does care what his legacy will be. Maybe he will change his mind and the team will be sold to a group before he passes. Or he leaves it to his wife who sells the team to the Investment group which would be more likely....

Say this Happens then we can talk ... My bet is that eventually a new group would want a stadium......To try and compete with the rest of the NFL...A new stadium with a retractable roof would cost right now about 750 Million..or more ......By the time the current lease runs out ....and we finally get a shovel in the ground we are looking at about 900 or 1 billion dollars... or more ...Yikes....

The new owners wouldn't have the money....That means we might get some state help ... 200 million- unlikely....but say we did then we still have to come up with about 500 mill or more ....That would mean a tax increase ...that would mean a vote by Erie county residents....That would mean the team might have to sell PSL's to raise their portion of the money....

It's a very complicated isssue ... Just look at the other teams that are trying to to get a new stadium...San Fran, San Diego, Minnesota.......They are struggling to get the deals done..

A great site to check out http://www.footballstadiumdigest.com/

It not only gives you the design but what's happening in each area .. as these communities debate what staduim they will build and where....

It's good to know we are not alone in this complicated mess ...As matter of fact we are lot better off than most....

Oh yeah and don't forget about the study we have to do to see if we can build it downtown or whereever...

Just look at the peace bridge plan....and that should tell us that this won't happen any time soon.....
