    Dolphins set for ‘new season’

    Three keys for Buffalo

    • Rookie running back Marshawn Lynch is fourth in the NFL with 690 yards. Miami’s defense is giving up an average of 4.5 yards per carry. Milk that combination for all it’s worth.

    • There has been an interception return for a touchdown in four of the past eight meetings and Dolphins quarterback Cleo Lemon is a prime candidate to have at least one pass picked off today.

    • When in doubt, think about the fourth quarter. The winner of the past 20 games in this series (including playoffs) has outscored the loser 173-71 in the final quarter.

    Three keys for Miami

    • Win the turnover battle. In the past 24 games (including playoffs), the winner of the turnover battle has won 20 times. Only once has the team with more turnovers come out on top. The other three times, the teams turned the ball over an equal amount.

    • With J.P. Losman at quarterback, the Dolphins’ secondary must be aware of wide receiver Lee Evans — particularly on deep throws. Since Losman’s return, Evans’ numbers have been going up.

    • Speaking of turnovers, Lemon must do a better job of taking care of the ball.
