    00 Titans D vs 03 Bills D

is it fair to say Greg Willaims now has the players on Defense to live up to the #1 Titans defense of 2000 whom were statistically better than the Ravens. Try to keep in mind how good the Titans players were at the time and not now.

RE Kenny Holmes = Aaron Schoebel
DT Jason Fisk < Pat Willaims
DT Henry Ford < Sam Adams
LE Jevon Kerse > Marcus Jones

    WSL Favors/Bulluck < Takeo Spikes
MLB Randell Godfrey = London Fletcher
SSL Eddie Robinson > Jeff Posely

CB Samari Rolle = Nate Clements
CB Denard Walker < Antoine Winfield
SS Blaine Bishop > Coy Wire
FS Marcus Robinson = Pierson Prioleau

    very good points..

i think posey has a chance to be better than robinson was in 00'

and i think reese will be our FS.. but i see him as equal..

coy could make big strides this offseason.. he should be able to be all that bishop was... at this point he is >, but i am hoping for = by the season.

We'd blow them out if you matched the 2 up offensively.
      Its all about the quest.

IMO, we are still lacking at both DE and safety spots. Our line and LB corps are as good if not better.

The biggest difference is we don't have half the depth the Titans had... we need more depth at the DE/DT and better depth in the secondary

I still disagree with the depth point. I think McKenzie, Irons, and Denney will provide solid depth at DE, and Bannan and Edwards provide depth at DT that will be fine. Plus, Kevin Thomas and Jason Bostic showed they can play the 3rd corner position this year.

Not to mention what we get in the draft.

...And Kearse over Jones is a huge plus for them.

The biggest difference is the Titians D was and still is basically run by Jeff Fisher. GW was a puppet D. Cordinator in Tenn.

So what your really comparing is who's the better coach. GW of JF, thats a easy one.

I don't know if that neccessarily true. When Willaims left the Titans, the Titan's defense plummeted to 26th in 2001 but rebounded to a pretty good 9th in 2002 with a similar/better crew than Willaims had to work with. This year tho, Willaims possess the equal/better defensive personell overall, so the argument can be answered whether GW was a puppet or not. I do agree however Fisher is the better head coach.

the addition of dick lebeau may even this up on the defensive coaching side

lebeau was certainly no puppet and has a very goood reputation.
