Going to the game tonight....

here in DC. Got my cheap seats ready to go!

I went to a game here last week and there were maybe 8000 people there. I'm expecting about 10,000 tonight, with the extra 2k being Sabres fans.

We don't have the buzz this year that we had last year, but last year we completely took over their arena. I'm hoping it happens again- we'd only need about 3000 Sabres fans to drown them out.

well you shouldn't be- you guys get 41 home games a year plus playoffs. They play here twice a year and I may not even get to go to the second one.

yeah that pissed me off when I saw the schedule- the one game that's actually on local TV for us is a national game. I'd rather the Sabres had a national game against ANYONE else because it would be one more that I got to watch. Oh well.

another impressive showing by Sabres fans- it was probably 40% Sabres fans, but there were maybe 10k people there. The Sabres fans would have drowned out the Caps fans if it wasn't for that ass with the horn.

Hecht had the best game I've seen him play, and Miller was amazing. Get Afinogenov the hell out of here- TWO penalties in the 3rd period. If the PK wasn't clicking, he would have let them right back in the game.

Paille and Ryan are growing on me. Their inexperience still shows but they're going to be good.

I wanted to see Peters fight Brashear, but going at it with Erskine was a good consolation prize.

And damn, the Caps suck. Every time the Sabres made a mistake, the Caps responded with a bigger one. If the Sabres made a sloppy clear, the Caps missed a pass and cleared the zone for us. They rely far too much on Ovechkin and their their 3rd period strategy revolves entirely around getting Ovechkin as much time as possible. They're never going to win if they don't get someone else to step up.
