.003 of a second it reinflates, wow is that fast or what. You can take like 3 shots to the noggin on one play and still have air left in the helmet, pretty neat. The current foam stuff does nothing really.

It's a good idea, and maybe it will help.

But, quite honestly, until the league starts cracking down on the lack of mouthpieces and unbuckled chin straps there will always be unnecessary concussions.

Also, helmets have actually been the cause of many more injuries than people realize because players play with much more reckless-abandon when they are wearing them.

Believe it or not, I know several sports medicine doctors who believe NFL players would be safer wearing a soft pad on their heads (kind of like the old leather helmets, but an actual pad) instead of the actual full hemets and facemasks they wear today. It would cause players to not use their heads when making contact (which is the bigger issue). Kind of odd to think about, but maybe they're right?!

I remember seeing the good old hockey days went they went helmetless and the goalie had the leather on. Man I just cringe thinking of that and a big slap shot hitting you in the head. You probably had to stitch yourself up and had shots of whiskey to get you back in the game, iron league stuff.
