Suggs Won't Be Charged For Incident

NFL | No Charges Against Suggs - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
14:27 PT: Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com reports Arizona State DE Terrell Suggs was attending a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the Phoenix area on Saturday when he got into an altercation with three men also at the event. J.C. Cook, a man in the group, said Suggs was the aggressor, but after being treated and released from an area hospital, the doctor said Suggs’ injuries were consistent to those of being struck from behind. Cook was treated and released for a broken nose and other lacerations. He said he believes he was hit with a piece of iron rebar and required little medical attention. "It was a case of self-defense and that's it," Suggs’ agent Gary Wichard said. "You get hit from behind and you react. What was he supposed to do? He's got a headache, but it could have been a lot worse." Local police have yet to file charges against anyone involved in the incident and Suggs is not a suspect

The agent for former Arizona State football star Terrell Suggs said an altercation his client was involved in Saturday afternoon should not affect his status for the NFL draft next month.

Suggs has been projected as high as the No. 3 overall pick.

"I don't think it should hurt it at all," Gary Wichard said Sunday. "He was attacked by someone with a steel rod. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't let someone whip me in the back of the head. What Terrell did was defend himself."

According to Wichard, Suggs said he went to pick up a cousin who was participating in a three-on-three basketball tournament at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
