    Wade Phillips

After watching the Cowboys run roughshot through the NFC this year, it's hard to imagine that Wilson ever ran Big Wade out of town. He was the last coach to get us to the playoffs, had the balls to bench Losman's big brother for The Little General, and he never had a losing seson in Buffalo. The only thing he did wrong was bringing in his idiot buddy to coach special teams in 2000 - which many speculate is the reason he was fired to begin with since he wouldn't fire the guy after that season.

You do have to wonder if his current success in Dallas is more of a product of Tony Romo's medioric rise, and the fact he now wears a headset on the field. Because the offense has been very explosive this year, and Wade's pedigree is defense - which hasn't been exactly dominant in Dallas this year.

The Corpse has done a solid job this year, but compared to Moolarkey and Greg Williams - Big Wade is Vince Lombardi.

Didn't he even bench the little General in the playoffs too?

That was Big Ralphs call - and the reason that somewhere in an CBS college gamebday studio that The Little General is laughing histerically at the curse he bestowed upon us.

Just like 'the curse of the bambino' plagued redsox fans for decades, 'the curse of the flutieflake' has been in full effect for nearly 8 years now.....

Ghandi would have made a better military general than Mularky and Williams made coaches, so thats not saying much.

          Line of the day!

But seriously... I think Wade Phillips deserves his due respect here. Special teams acumen (or lack thereof) aside (remember "punt catcher?"), he is, all in all, a lot better than a lot of the coaches out there.

When you are 11-1 it is hard to criticize the HC.

That said, I think Phillips will ultimately be judged on his playoff success, an area where he hasn't shined. He is a very good defensive coach and took over a pretty talented Dallas team. He is getting the post-Tuna bump to some degree, so he has ot show he can sustain it.

Wade wasn't just ran out of town by Ralph. We fans did as well.

here's some similarities between Wade and Dick. Their players love to play for them. They both got fired when they refused to get rid of their assistants because of their loyalty to them. Neither coaches brought back those assistants they were loyal to ,to their new team. They both had qb controversies coaching the bills.

If only we had an AGGRESSIVE playcaller like this - Garrett knows offense, and Phillips let's him run the offensive without interfering as well. You don't see the cowboys get complacent and play conservatively, they come out firing on 1st and 2nd down as well. He will definitely be a head coach in this league sooner than later.....

Gotta agree with NE. He inherited a damn good team who pretty much just needed a tweak on Defense which he obviously brings. Hes a good coach, but I wouldnt go humping his leg yet.

There is no doubt Garrett his a bright, highly-thought-of coach who Jerry Jones will pay to keep around in Dallas until he becomes HC.

However, it isn't hard to be a good play-caller when you have that kind of talent. He has a big OL, a top young QB, 2 good RB, one of the best WR ever, one of (if not the) best all-around TE in the NFL, a solid complimentary WR in Crayton and even a very good backup TE (Fasano).

He deserves credit, but they have a lot of good players, especially on offense.
