Dick Jauron spun his quarterback carousel this week and it landed on Trent Edwards. J.P. Losman is back on the bench after three straight lousy games, and Edwards steps in to try and get some offensive consistency going. It will be quite a task, particularly against a Washington defense that is coming off a game where it limited Tampa Bay to 15 yards in the second half. The Bills have been feeble on offense the last three weeks, averaging 246 yards and scoring a mere 37 points. While it is true that not having RB Marshawn Lynch has hurt, his absence is not the only problem. The Bills have six turnovers in the last three games, they have not gained yardage in big chunks, and their QB play has been sub-par. Fred Jackson is going to start at RB with Lynch and Anthony Thomas sidelined, so look for Edwards to utilize Jackson in the short dump-off passing game because throwing downfield will be tough against the Redskins' CBs, Fred Smoot and Shawn Springs. Washington ranks eighth in yards allowed per pass attempt, and it ranks ninth in overall defense at 310.7 yards per game. One of the key matchups will be the battle up front, led by ex-Skin LG Derrick Dockery. The Bills must win in the trenches in order to give Edwards a chance against Gregg Williams' aggressive blitzing tactics. The pressure will come from different angles, and the rookie could be in for a tough day.
