Two consecutive TO's to freeze the kicker? How ******ed is that? Hell, even I was screaming for a penalty as soon as the ref's were signaling for a TO.

I seriously doubt Gibbs didn't know the rule, he just got caught up in the game and emotion.
and Lindell would have definitely kicked another 51 yarder. I'm 100% certain.
