1. Jags (8 & 4, Panthers)
2. Browns (7 & 5, @ Jets)
3. Titans (7 & 5, Bolts)
4. Bills (6 & 6, Miami)
5. Broncos (5 & 7, Chiefs)
All teams with 7 losses or more off the list except Denver as they hold a tie-breaker over the Bills
Analysis:
Today's Bills victory combined with losses by Cleveland and Denver, has significantly improved Bills playoff prospects. As a result of the game outcomes and analytical adjustments, Bills move up one place from 5th to 4th. The number of teams ahead of them has been reduced from 5 to 3. Importantly, they are only 1 game behind 2 of 3 teams ahead of them (Browns & Titans.) From a tie-breaker perspective, we are currently even with the Titans on the 1st measure of Conference Record, however that could change if we make up a game on them. Cleveland we play in 2 weeks, and even if a win there gives the teams an equal won/loss record, we would be ahead due to head to head tie-breaker. If Bills beat Miami at home next week, it's alco conceivable they could be in 2nd place on their own as early as next week, if the Titans lose to Bolts and Browns lose to Jets in New York. Bolts we know are good, but Jets should also not be taken lightly as they are 2 & 1 since Clemens officially took over for Pennington. But of course, it all starts with Bills taking care of business first against Miami.
