You summed it up. Any further discussion, including this, is a waste of forum space (:

Seriously. Why is he a Bill again? He can't hang on to the ball, gets drive killing holding penalties. I hope Gaines is the number one next year.

Good point.
I should've said:
Robert Royal Sucks,
Pile on.

I wouldn't mind him getting cut this week and we pick up someone who doesn't even know the offense. Im sure we wouldn't see a difference.

He does have a tendancy to make errors in bunches.

They should've left him at the airport.
I guarentee you, even before we get a #2 WR next season, the TOP offensive priority will be getting a better TE. a TE is important to Edwards' game.

If they don't, I'm ok with Gaines. He's a HUGE target, with good hands. Sure he's slow, but at least he's not Robert Royal.

in fact, depending on where they end up drafting, I woudn't be the least bit surprised if that's their first round pick; should a Tight end of quality be available at that slot.

I agree.
Assuming our draft position this year is between 15-20, I think we have a chance to land the 1st or 2nd best TE on the board.
The best WR prospects might already be gone by then.

I don't like the guy, but IMO, cutting him wouldnt do anything to help us.
I do, however, think we should start Gaines and push Royal to the bottom of the depth chart.
Next season, Robert Royal should not be a Bill. I hope we pick up a Tight End in the 1st Round this upcoming draft.

Gaines is little more than a stop gap player at this point. However, he does seem to be the better option currently.
I'm more than a bit curious to see what Shouman has to offer next year. This is not to say we shouldn't look for a big sure handed capable TE in the draft or FA, but he may have more to offer than any of the others currently on our roster.
