I think that this is true.
Lets say the bills win out. that puts us at 10-6.
lets also say that cleveland wins all their remaining games except for the bills game.
lets further prognosticate that the jaguars lose at pittsburgh and also lose one more game, be it against Oakland, Carolina or Houston (not probable, but im talking chances here).
to make it even more unlikely, lets say that Tennessee loses to KC, SD or the Jets and beat an Indy team in week 17 that is resting its starters for the playoffs.
that would make the standings like this:
Jags 10-6
Browns 10-6
Titans 10-6
Bills 10-6
if you read the other thread about the bills playoffs, you know that we beat both tennessee and the browns in tiebreakers and lose to the jags.
however, because tennessee has a better division record than the jaguars, the jaguars become eliminated from the wildcard picture despite the jaguars beating us headtohead.
the bills then beat both the browns and titans and ascend to the #5 spot in the playoffs.
i think this happened last year with the Chiefs and Broncos. i could be mistaken, but i think that this is true.
very interesting possibility
