    DB's Mock Draft v5.0

Another two weeks gone by and another Mock!!!! I know you're all excited as I am and I hope you have all been following along at home. Well there are some changes this week, and some picks remain the same. As always I wish for creative and constructive criticism of the picks, and will be more than happy to justify/debate my opinion. Finally we are all aware of Sean Taylor's death and I wouldnt be who I was if I didnt factor that into the mock, its not meant to take the death lightly but this is supposed to emulate real life so that was a factor. RIP Sean Taylor.

    1. Miami Dolphins-DT Glenn Dorsey-LSU
Only other pick here would be Chris or Jake Long and at this point, I dont see either being more viable options for the lowly Phins.

    2. St. Louis Rams-DE Chris Long-UVA
Moving up the draft charts quickly, Long is very similar to Aaron Kampman in playing style and heart. I was down on him early but have come around recently.

    3. New England Patriots-OT Jake Long-Michigan
How do you cheat, and still get the #3 pick in the draft and win a SB? You have a FO like New England does, its that simple.

    4. New York Jets-LB Dan Connor-PSU
Lots of holes to fill and Connor plugs in right away next to Harris and Vilma to try and solidify a swiss cheese defense

    5. Atlanta Falcons-QB Brian Brohm-Louisville
Ive denied this pick for far too long now, I mean come on Petrino is the HC of Atlanta afterall

    6. Oakland Raiders-RB Darren McFadden-Arkansas
Get the top player in the draft two years in a row? Maybe Oakland isnt a black hole after all.

    7. Kansas City-LB Keith Rivers-USC
KC needs to be able to stop somebody and Rivers will be a nice building block opposite Derrick Johnson.

    8. Cincinnati-DT Sedrick Ellis-USC
Strong, Fast, Athletic, but he has good character...

    9. Baltimore-WR Desean Jackson-Cal
Ted Ginn 2.0, with less speed and less disciplined, but better size, I know Newsome likes the kid, I just dont see it

    10. Washington Redskins-S Kenny Phillips-Miami
We know why, RIP Sean Taylor

    11. Philadelphia Eagles-WR Malcolm Kelly-Oklahoma
This kid continues to climb up boards and I dont see that stopping any time soon, sadly

    12. New Orleans Saints-CB Malcolm Jenkins-Ohio State
Jenkins has taken advantage of the lack of top level CB's this year and become the top guy

    13. Houston Texas-OT Sam Baker-USC
Baker has had an off year due to injuries and inconsistencies but this could be Houston's franchise LT

    14. Denver Broncos-WR Adarius Bowman-Ok St
Denver needs to get Cutler some receiving weapons, Smith is getting old and Marshall is nice but they need more

    15. Chicago Bears-QB Matt Ryan-Boston College
My how have the mighty have fallen, and Ryan's inconsistent play did him in

    16. Carolina Panthers-DE Derrick Harvey-Florida
Carolina needs something to get Peppers going again and adding the playmaking Harvey may be the ticket

    17. Minnesota Vikings-LB James Lauranitis-OSU
QB Tavaris Jackson has come alive and started to become that QB that some draft guru's (cough*ME*cough) said he would be, so they can afford to not go QB

    18. Detroit Lions-OT Gosder Cherilus-Boston College
Lions have to protect Kitna and give him more time, if they do that they may just get his 10 win season next year

    19. Buffalo Bills-DE Tyson Jackson-LSU
Buffalo has to generate a pass rush and I know we put big money into Kelsay and Schobel but sometimes you gotta recognize a bad investment

    20. Arizona Cardinals-CB Justin King-PSU
Arizona adds a playmaker opposite Rolle and they become one of the most dangerous secondaries in the league.

    21. Tennessee Titans-WR Early Doucet-LSU
Vince Young gets a late Christmas present

    22. San Diego Chargers-CB Antoine Cason
They got Cromartie right in a slight reach, why not give Cason a shot?

    23. Dallas Cowboys-CB Aqib Talib-Kansas
Newman just plain sucks and they need to replace him

    24. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-OT Ryan Clady-Boise State
Losing Petitgout has really hurt them and they need the depth

    25. Seattle Seahawks-QB Andre Woodson-Kentucky
Hasselbeck's getting older and Woodson will need a year or two

    26. New York Giants-CB Mike Jenkins-USF
Eli Manning better turn his game around or else this pick could end up being a trade up for a QB

    27. Jacksonville Jaguars-DE Quentin Groves-Auburn
I know Mystic hates how low I have Groves going, I know

    28. Pittsburgh Steelers-RB Felix Jones-Arkansas
Adds a nice second punch to an overworked Willie Parker

    29. Green Bay Packers-RB James Stewart-Oregon
Grant has emerged as a nice story but does anybody think he's for real?

    30. San Francisco 49ers-WR Mario Manningham-Michigan
Played well through QB instability and has the size to benefit SF

    31. Dallas Cowboys-DT Frank Okam-Texas
    Hometown pick, makes sense

    32. New England Patriots-PICK FORFEIT
Ahh this is what happens when you cheat, you win the damn SB and go undefeated!!!

nice work, though I don't like the Bills pick. I would rather they draft King at that point.

remind me again how the patriots got the #3 pick? that crap is unreal.

So we would have Denney, Schobel, Kelsay, Hargrove, and Jackson. Is there room for all these guys? Who would get bumped?

Hargrove could move inside and I wouldnt be opposed to moving one of them via a trade either

I don't know anything about college players but I find it surprising that there are no QB, RB or WR in the first 4 picks. I don't think that has ever happened before.

Darren McFadden is really the only one worth it but I agree it may be an oddity

I think NE would take the BPA and that would be McFadden. Maroney is banged up alot and does not play much even when not injured.

How about Manningham to the Bills? He would be a great compliment to Evans.

I dont see NE going with McFadden he'd challenge Maroney for time and Faulk is the ideal backup for them. Its a definite possibility for sure but I think Long is the BPA.

Im not sold on Mario I think he needs to add some bulk but he has the playmaking ability. I was torn between Jackson and Doucet for our pick to be perfectly honest.

No way McFadden gets past the Jets, if he lasts that long.

Thomas Jones is having a great year and they got Washington as their change of pace back why would they take McFadden over improving their putrid D?

Jones is getting up in age. He very well could land in Miami or New England also. Brown coming off knee injury, and Marooney has been hurt most of the year. He is also the best player available. A. Peterson proved once again not to pass on an elite runner/player, and usually I'm not for drafting rb or wr's early unless they are elite. Unfortunately for the Bills I'm afraid he will end up somewhere in the AFCE.

I cant see Miami taking him its going to be Dorsey or Jake Long and I say that with 100% confidence. NE and NYJ are realistic options but I think Long is a BPA afer Dorsey, so I think NE goes there and the Jets running game has been solid and Jones is a good back with 3-4 years left imo.
