View Full Version : Buffalo needs a SONIC!
If any of you have eaten at sonic, you'll understand.
There are no sonics within 150 miles of Buffalo!

Call 1-866-OK-SONIC (1-866-657-6642).
TELL THEM YOU WANT A SONIC IN WESTERN NEW YORK!
I think Cheektowaga would be the best area, most likely Union Road where the old Apple Bees was across from Cheektowaga Central. That lot is DEAD and the attention this place would generate would interest buyers in surrounding buildings.
In 2007... Franchise 500 declared Sonice Drive Thru as the 8th Best Franchise in the World, ahead of McDonalds.

Hmm, I still haven't been to one. I know they are down here, but I haven't seen any real close. Perhaps I'll have to go out of my way to find one if you speak so fondly of them.

I've eaten at these, the food is lackluster at best. They do have some good drinks though (milkshakes specifically)

What is a Sonic?
Ive got like 4 all within 2-5 miles. They are all over the place here.
They are a drive up restaraunt chain where you stay in your car and the food is brought out to you.
The food itself isnt bad, however what few times ive eaten there the past 2-3 years I always feel like im gonna have a heart attack afterwards. Im pretty sure everything is coated in fat.

in-n-out burger kicks sonic's ass...
but there will never be in-n-out here...or anywhere close...
its mostly southern cal...a few in the bay area and a couple in vegas...but they're not franchised...so forget about it, unless the owner decides to move to buffalo (a la Ted's in Phoenix)

in-n-out is also in Arizona.
Toss up between in-n-out and jack for best burgers. Closest Jack is 10 hours away, yet I've seen commercials for it here. Explain that.
And why in the hell is there no Papa Johns in Buffalo?

didn't know about the arizona ones...good to know if i'm ever there...
i'll take in-n-out for freshness...but jack makes some definite heart-clogging goodness as well...
i've never had the papa john's...my wife said she hates it, but she's the only one who has ever said that to me...
i just think wny'ers are very protective of our own when it comes to certain food joints...papa john's probably knows that...but i thought i heard they were entering the market

You're out of your mind man.
Pizza Hut and Domino's are here.
Papa Johns would legitimately put Pizza Hut and Domino's out of business here as well as some of the mom and pop joints.

Papa John's is damn expensive comparatively and not that good in my book. We have one practically right next door and we never order from there really.

I don't care for it myself, but the family does. We usually order from them in RC because they are cheaper than Pizza Hut and higher quality than Dominoes.

try being in syracuse......... we're 3 hours from buffalo/niagara falls........ 90 minutes from kingston ontario......... and about 150-200 miles from nearest sonic...
we get the sonic commercials jammed down our throats, the tim hortons commercials (which the closest to us is in rochester), and a few other chains that aren't here "yet"

Couldn't they limit to the ads in Sonic-bearing cities?

Anyone ever hear of or have a Papa Murphy's Pizza place around?? They had a couple in Wichita when I was out there. That's some good pizza and really cheap because they whip the pizza up right there and then you take it home and cook it yourself. Great stuff IMO

I am definitely with you on that one! I just like Sonic for the variety of stuff they have, for you people that have never been there.. goto the website and look at their menu. It is stacked.
Its basically a mcdonalds, tim hortons, dairy queen, taco bell (i think they have tacos) all in one.
I've gone to Myrtle Beach three times in the past year and we've ate there almost everyday. There are somehting like 100,000 drink combonations to choose from.
I can see why some of you guys dont like it, I'm still at the age where I can pound 4 double cheeseburgers and possibly lose a pound lol.
I want an In-N-Out burger, Jack in the box, Jamba Juice, and a Sonic within driving distance GOD DAMN ITTTTTTTTTTT!!!!

I am heading to Sonic in 10 minutes. They don't have tacos here I know that
and Papa Johns.. ehhh, its too thin for my liking.
I've had a plenty from the San Diego area and I wasnt impressed. I'm not sure how the pizza joints in cheektowaga remain open with all the competition...
Within a five minute drive I have these Pizzeris to choose from:
Gandys, Yum Yums, Macys Place, Johnnys, La Novas, Pizza Hut, Airport, Avenue, Bobs, Chick N Pizza works, Christophers, Deniros, D'agostinos, Dominos, Just Pizza, Bocces (best pizza sauce), Imperial, John & Marys, Johns (best chicken finger sub), Ottos, Masters, Tonys and probably a few more I left out...
WNY = High rate of heart disease.. SHOCKER
I am heading to Sonic in 10 minutes. They don't have tacos here I know that
It might just be burritos then.. because I know I had one in Myrtle sometime in august.
LT fedEx me a double cheeseburger with everything on it. you can have the fries and drink. make the drink a dr. pepper with strawberry, just tell me how good it tastes
I just called the number I posted and they said "where we decide to open a sonic in an area where there are no sonic restaurants, depends on how many calls we get from that particular area regarding a restaurant being built there"
CALL CALL CALL

Sonic blows goats, BTW. Nothing like eating a messy cheeseburger and fries ... in my car. No thanks.

I agree but near the stadiun in Orchard Park would be better.
Toaster Sandwiches, Breakfast Combos, Hot dogs, Chicken Sandwiches, Wraps, Burgers, Onion Rings, Fries, Ice Cream, Cappuchino, Slushies, Shakes, Burritos, Salads, Cheese cake....
You just cant go wrong.
When it comes down to a fast food chain, SONIC is the best and there is no denying that G. If you think otherwise I would love to fight you :D

So how was the food? I cant wait to go again haha

Sonics is great but to me Arbys is best fast food restaurant. In fact I like Jack in the Box better than Sonics. Sonics should do what other restaurants have done and find a partner for areas where they do not have a presense. What do you think of a Mighty Taco / Sonics combination?

There's so many Sonics down here. Can't drive for 5 minutes without seeing one.
Jack In The Box has the best curly fries.
I think I've had Chick-Fil-A once or twice but they're pretty good. (only close one is in the mall)
the taco places down here are the best though. taco cabana and especially chico's tacos = :D

Another place that would be super if it actually came here is Steak N Shake.
As far as I know they're almost everywhere, except in the northeast.
