    ESPN giving Edwards some love.

ESPN NEXT - listing of rising young talent to keep your eyes on.

    Trent Edwards, Buffalo Bills QB
Going forward, this is going to be his team. He has big-time wide receivers and Edwards just needs time to establish a rapport with them. If Marshawn Lynch can provide the offense with a running game, Edwards is going to have a shot to be a great quarterback. -- Trey Wingo, "NFL Live" host

Joba Chamberlain is NEXT, but what athletes in other sports have similar potential? ESPN.com asked its sport editors, writers and analysts for the one name in their respective sports who would be NEXT.

I'm not so sure about the big-time wide receivers comment.

Studwards has elevated the play of everybody around him simply because he gets every receiver involved, also the defense seems to play a lot better when he starts as well.

Is this a coincidence? The Answer thinks not....

Be patient - the TD's are coming, especially as Studwards gets more experience and a better level of comfort with his receivers.

Look for at least 2 TD's passes this weak against the Dolfellon....

I think our receivers, collectively, are pretty good. Evans has most skills needed at the position, and experience will make him a more precise route runner. Parrish is our X guy, the guy who can take a screen 80 yds, and Reed is our tough, physical wideout who can also block. If we could just have a tall dude who can jump and catch the ball, we'd be set at the position.

I also love how well Edwards distributes the ball. Losman was a flashier player (more of a flash in the pan though, as it turns out) with the cannon arm. I had high hopes for JP. Edwards is just a rookie and is playing some decent ball considering. Nice to see him getting some love.

Yeah, because he's the one getting holding penalties when the Bills' are inside the 10. Tough to score touchdowns when it's 2nd and goal from the 20 yard line.

Are you a female or gay (not that there's anything wrong with that)? Referring to Edwards as "Studwards" kind of makes it sound like you want to bang him.

Whatever. I'm guaranteeing another win with Mr. Edwards behind center.
