Bucs Sign Former Bears QB Miller

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free-agent quarterback Jim Miller to a one-year contract Monday and re-signed offensive tackle Roman Oben to a four-year deal.

A 10-year veteran, Miller spent the past five seasons with the Chicago Bears, but he missed eight games last season with an assortment of injuries. He finished the year on injured reserve with a sprained knee ligament before being released in February.

He also underwent offseason rotator cuff surgery after experiencing pain when he threw the football.

"We're excited to add Jim Miller to the mix," Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden said. "Our goal is to get him healthy and teach him our system. He is a proven playmaker and leader."
