Free agent defensive tackle Jeff Zgonina signed a four-year deal Monday with the Miami Dolphins.

The move helps solidify the middle of the Dolphins' defensive front, which has little experience behind starters Larry Chester and Tim Bowens.

Zgonina spent the last four seasons with the St. Louis Rams, the last three starting at defensive tackle.
