Miami Hurricanes safety Kenny Phillips has decided to skip his senior season and enter the NFL Draft, according to his father.

Kenny Wilson said his son told the family the news Thursday night, saying "it was time to go."

"He didn't really say there was a prime reason why he is leaving, but only that he was just ready," Wilson said. "I think it was a wise choice."

He didn't have the stellar year some expected... and the defense is not the problem for Miami generally speaking. I think he takes another year and tries to boost his stock a bit.
