I legitimately feel bad for Arthur Blank. What a crappy year. Last night they were going all out on MNF to talk about how Petrino will be back too, and Blank wants him back. Oh well, he's loaded so I guess it could be worse.....

Blank looks like a complete idiot!! He went on and on on how he has the right coach and is really glad that he has him!!!!

This is why I hate owners like Blank and Johnson.

WOW! Another quitter -- you gotta feel bad for Atlanta fans...

"Bobby Petrino resigned as Atlanta Falcons (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67038) coach Tuesday, a person close to the team told The Associated Press.

Petrino will take the head coaching job at Arkansas, the Falcons told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution."

Not tryin to argue -- but why would you hate Blank for this? I'm not understanding...

He supported, and stood up, for guys like Vick and Petrino, and in the end they both "spit in his face."

How is that Blank's fault?

Coaches get paid for entire contract when they are cut, evn for not doign their job, so they should be forced to pay a penality. Teams ought to have esclator clauses so coaches make the most money in their last year in case they so a Spurrrier and walk.

Everyone knows it by now and yet NFL teams continue to throw big money at college coaches. Just leave them be. There is a reason they are college coaches.

I knew that Petrino was never going to last - when are NFL owners going to learn. I've been an on and off fan of Jauron, but from what I hear he treats his players like men and these college coaches never seem to grasp that concept.

I don't blame him for leaving. That Falcons team is a mess. I would have wanted to get out of there too.

I don't. He shelled out a boat load of money on an overhyped QB who many casual fans realized couldn't hit a lake if standing in front of it. Did you ever see the picture of Blank pushing Vick in his wheelchair? I'm sorry - that was way out of line. He got what he paid for in the QB and coach.

Lou Holtz did the exact same thing in 1976. Quit the Jets near the end of his only NFL season to bolt for Arkansas.

Way to go Petrino!

Don't ever expect to coach in the NFL again.

Wuss coaches in order...

Holtz/Petrino tie for 1
Botch Davis 2
Mike Mularkey 3
Nick Saban 4

i feel excited for the players. now instead of a divided lockerroom, they all seem genuinely excited and relieved. i work at a place where i wish a couple people petrino'd. i can guarantee you i'd be like D'Angelo Hall.

I would be happy if he did.
Hell, I'll pack his bags.

Anyway I never thought Petrino would suceed in the NFL.

Think The Falcons will still take Brohm?
