I don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. This is the time to really start talking to high school recruits. I don't see how he is going to have his mind 100% on the Bills right now.

i saw it about 2 hours ago so i am going off of memory but nothing much was said.

fairchild will be with us the rest of the season.
it won't be a distraction.
you want coaches to progress but you hate to lose them.
we think fairchild is a good coach.... etc.

DJ said he was happy for Fairchild. Good coach thinks he'll do well. Vanilla answers. BB.com has it up on their site

so no talk about if the replacement will be internal or anything.

no talk of a replacement and fairchild will have the same duties till the bills season is over. then came the standard line - everyone is focused on the browns.

Trent did say he thought Fairchild would do well at the college level. :snicker:

I'm a little surprised that Colorado State didn't insist on him being available for the key recruiting period around Christmas. Maybe they feel that they have a good head recruiter who can sell kids on waiting because the school will be getting a HC from the NFL. I think the fact that Fairchild has been an OC in the NFL will be a good selling point for him with kids that they are recruiting, especially ones who have ambitions of perhaps playing in the NFL down the road. It certainly helped K.Ferentz at Iowa and S.Croom at Miss.St.--both schools that, like Colorado State, aren't easy places to recruit--at least initially.

But I know that is just reading way too much in between the lines with that statement.

I'm sure Jauron won't talk about a replacement until after the season is over. He'll have a list of candidates, do some interviews and pick a guy. He'll probably look both within and outside the organization. I don't expect it to be any different then any other coach hiring process.

Well I can seem him staying as long as the Bills are in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Yeah, especially when they look at how successful the Bills offense has been the last two years...
