Wow I completley missed Schobels new deal

I thought he was still playing on his old extension lol, I was wondering wtf some of you were carrying on about!

I am one of the few who have always thought he deserved this kind of deal so I mean personally I dont care, just kinda surprised I missed it.

2013.......id be shocked if he played that long.

He's not expected to play that long necessarily.... but spreading out the salary over 6 years makes it more cap friendly.

we're seriously going to regret this deal.

Good teams are the ones that shell out for players who perform. Schobel doesn't perform. He's useless in the run game because he has no inside move, and has a tendency to overrun the QB from trying to get to the outside. The truth is that he's slightly above average at best and will never justify his salary. This is how teams get into cap trouble and fail to address positions of need.

Schobel needs to show up against the Browns.

No consistent pass rush against Cleveland = Blow Out.

scary thought since the only consistent pass rush we've had in 3 seasons was this past week against the winless Fish.

no we didn't. Our ends had better years last year but we got NO pass rush from our DT's all season long, from a system that requires pressure from the DT's. In fact, I think the DT's finished the season last year with 2 sacks between the lot of them, and both were by Tripplett in the last month of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if Schobel's still playing in 2013. He's done a great job of staying healthy his whole career and always keeps himself in phenomenal shape.

As for the Browns game, don't expect much of a pass rush. No one has been able to get much pressure on them all year. Schobel will be going against Joe Thomas too, who's already playing at a probowl level as a rookie. He's gonna be a great one for many years to come.

It's Bruce Smith vs Tony Boselli in the playoffs all over again: the changing of the guard (although Schobel isn't fit to hold Bruce Smith's jockstrap)

Is anyone fit to hold Bruce Smiths jockstrap?

I could say that Joe Thomas can't carry Boselli's jock yet.

Just think about who we couldve signed for the amount we just threw at Schobel...AND Kelsay...who even admitted he was suprised by the amount of money thrown at him.

                            Ugh...
