    Tallinder back will play tonight

Henrik Tallinder, who has missed the last eight games with a shoulder injury, has been cleared to play by team doctors.

"This isn't a case where we're putting him in and hoping he makes it through the game," said head coach Lindy Ruff. "We're putting him in and he's going to play a big role for us. If something happens, it happens, but I don't anticipate anything."

Tallinder hasn't suited up since Nov. 26.

Dmitri Kalinin, on the other hand, has not yet been cleared for game action. Kalinin's knee injury continues to bother for the 27 year old.

"Dmitri is just not quite ready," said Ruff. "There's still just a little bit of tenderness there that needs to go away before he plays. He's been involved in real good skates, but the doctors feel it would be advantageous for him to wait until at earliest next Wednesday."

The Sabres have lost a total of 61 man-games this season.
