How is it possible that an NFL receiver catches a pass, avoids a tackle and runs out of bounds, yet the clock continues to run.

I still can't believe I actually saw it.

Less time worrying about stupid, insignificant uniform issues.

More time worrying about unbelievable errors.

Yes that was horrible. Almost like that Whitner interception in week one of last year when they called him out.

That was very possibly the worst call I've ever seen. Even the announcers were commenting on it.

The next play was the drop by Evans anyways, but still.

It matters immensely.

In fact, I thought I saw the side judge give the stop the clock signal, yet it ran.

I must have missed something.

If I didn't. we as fans, have a lot to be worried about.

and the receiver didn't even go down so it wasn't like it was even close.

It's the stupid forward progress rule. SInce they spotted the ball where his FP was, that was inbounds, so the clock runs. Stupid rule, but it is the rule.

The facts...

Reed caught the ball in bounds and went out.

The official didn't stop the clock because Reed went backwards before going out of bounds and it was a judgement call as to whether forward progress stopped the play.

The commentators thought the clock should have stopped.

The theory...

The official was a Browns fan.
