All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
We're currently 28th in offense and 17th in defense as far as points are concerned. That's the most important figure we need to worry about.
Kelly and Co. 1990 - 1st and 6th; 1991 - 2nd and 19th; 1992 - 3rd and 14th; and in 1993 - 7th and 5th.
Kelly led offenses pre-1990. 1986 - 20th; 1987 - 24th; 1988 - 14th; and in 1989 when it really came together for us we were 3rd in points scored.
In the same four years the defense had rankings of 20, 12, 3, 14.
The defense was ahead in developing early in Kelly's career and stayed pretty much above average during the "glory days." The offense eventually turned into a monster while the defense stayed steady playing "bend don't break" for a good chunk of that time. It took development of older draft picks along with a few new picks and free agents to turn that 1986 team into what it became. We had some far more frustrating years pre-1987 which is why I tend to be more patient today.
