    Offseason priorities

what is the BIGGEST priority of the front office this coming offseason?

    WR?
    DL?
    OL?
    SS/CB/FS?
    TE?

All the above in no particular order.

      Serious tip:

It all starts at the lines, then I would say a $ WR then go TE.

        IMO:

        #1 - Run stuffing DT
#2 - #2WR... I'm talking a guy with size and speed... a guy who can spread the field and go over the middle
#3 - a TE... anything will be an upgrade over what we have

Only problem is we don't play a 4-3 where a run stuffer like wilfork is needed. We used to run that with some great players and ranked #2 on D 2 years in a row. Too bad our offense sucked balls.

We require fast smaller Dlinemen according to the cover 2. Not my opinion just stating what a Cover 2 defense we run uses.

Cannot argue the WR. Would love Manningham or Kelly etc type player here.

I think we can thru FA pick up a decent TE. We tried with Royal from the skins and he showed up in 1 game so far. I think with more game planning using them to sit down in the defense's holes he will be better, underutilized I guess I am saying.

Find someone who can take advantage of our talent.

(for example, I thought Marshawn was a good receiver, capable of creating LB mismatches)

Freman's analysis is spot on. We don't need Wilfolk but we do need a starting NT. As much as I love Kyle Williams' grit he's a career backup. I've mentioned Russell Davis in the past. In terms of FA TEs, while love to see us get Eric Johnson I think we'd be more apt to draft one in Round 2. I think we can also get an UFA WR with size but there's still question if any of them are true #2 WRs or #3s.

I'd like to see them go after a big time WR and TE. Maybe a real good CB as well.

Strong mauling type of Center that would open up lanes and gaps in the run game. Fowler is garbage.

Fowler and Butler both... C-RG are pretty mediocre.

                    C - RG - DT - WR - TE - QB - WLB - DB

we're weak in all those positions.

i'll refrain from ranking them, because a football team is a "team" and you're only as strong as your weakest link. all of those are "mediocre" - to - "terrible" in talent atm and need an immediate upgrade.

We need to be as active in FA and fill as many holes as possible prior to the draft.

We need a legit #2 receiver, a #1 TE, a better DT and a C. If we could aquire that through FA, we could should go CB in round one.

Or if they want to get a good CB through FA, we can just pick BPA all day.

#1 Run Stuffing DT we need a STUD here, ALBERT HAYNESWORTH looks great in a BILLS UNI..

#2 OLB POZ/CROWELL look great we get a 3rd wow...

#3 CB ENOUGH SAID Greer has stepped in fine and are young talent will get better

#4 WR Tall big WR/ Malcom Kelly/Mannigham would be great to draft here

Safety/ We need some talent behind Simpson and Whitner

TE/ Royal and Gaines are fine here could use a pass catching TE

DE/ SOmeone that can actually pressure the QB

OL/ Position has played well this year but we need some depth to push Fowler for his job

                          Between FA and draft...

                          1a) Big speedy WR - Notice I didn't say a #2 WR.
1b) Big dominating TE with soft hands.
                          1c) Big smart talented Center.
                          2) CB
                          3) RG

                            Re: Offseason priorities

in terms of importance i think it is easy

                            1. play making wr. we need a threat accross the middle, in outs, someone with some go up and get the ball ability. forget linemen, we have some good big guys, we have zero wr's besides evans and evans is not a true star (remember how much better the giants got with plexico? we need a guy like that, maybe chad johnson).

2/3. DB/LB. we've got one of each coming back, but this is where our real need on D is. we lost spikes fletcher and clements, we need to replace them.

                            4. interior OL. pass blocking is good, but run blocking is poor at times. i think just one day one type guy would be enough for now, maybe some guys later in the draft.

                            5. DT.

i know everyone bangs the dt drum, but we are ok againt the run with what we have, and 2 of our DTs are just enterig their 3rd year. our LBs get schooled all the damn time (ellison and dipizza are lost out there at times), and our secondary is tiny.

most of all tho we need a new OC, and i think we have to let mcnally on his way. we need a whole new offensive staff IMO

Speaking of NT, anyone see the nobody that the Bears just signed? He blew up a few plays in the fourth quarter, absolutely blowing up Matt Birk. Why can't we find these guys?
