and Marshawn credits the o-line, class!
Peters wants him to get it, more than Lynch does.
That's all about TEAM right there.

Not too bad, given that he missed a few games...

Fairchild needs to quit calling the same old predictable running plays and he might get it.

No doubt about it, our offense is getting better, even if people say otherwise. We got a decent line and a pretty good back now all we need is to get a freakin' TE and a #2 receiver. I think if we can get some more production from thsoe two spots, it will open up more of the game for Trent and Marshawn.

We'll be getting tested this weekend, the Giants defensive line are pretty good!

I love guys like that. Much different then the schmuck that was the RB last year.

Is it a big deal?

Every back credits their line.

We should be running the hell out of him this week... if they're gonna bring the heat early then get them on draws and counters... as well as screen passes. We'll get them in contain mode real quick if we use Marshawn properly. No way he should have under 120 total yards vs. the giants.

They've got a Beast also, our D is going to have to stop him better than they did against the Browns. But LYNCH should easily get his grand.

1000 yards a season= 62.5 yards a game. that's nothing special.

Granted, Lynch is a rookie and he did miss a few games, so that qualifies it a little.

But still, it's a false assumption to think a runner or a receiver is good just because they hit some artificial 1000 yard plateau.

Over a 16 game season, that's 1300+. That's a pretty damn good season. Also, he's been pretty consistent. It's not like he's had 3 - 4 great games to inflate his stats. He had games of 153 and 107. Outside out that, he has been around 80 every game. I wish he would have been used more in the passing game, but that's not really on him. I don't think we could have asked for much more from Marshawn this year.

Yes and No. If he showed excellent potential/reliability in the passing game, it SHOULD force the O-coordinator's hand to use him more often that way. It's not like there is a ton of great options for him to beat out in the passing game with one good receiver and 0 good TE on the roster.

Good point OP... 1000 is pretty worthless, but like you said, the injuries need to be considered. As mayo mentioned, dude does clip 85 a game. His ypc need to be improved. If so, and if he can stay healthy, I expect 1500+ next year.

Fair enough- I'm not criticizing Lynch.

I'm just saying that the 1000 yard benchmark is not what many people make it out to be.

Op, I agree with most of your posts but this one I do not. Whether we like it or not, 1000 yds is the standard for a good back or receiver. Anything less is crappy season.

I think Lynch has done a tremendous job. Think where he would be stat wise if he didn't miss 3 games.

I agree, missing the games he missed, a rookie getting 1000yrds is pretty damn good!

No, it is not, especially for rb. Go back and look at the 1000 yd backs last year, how many were there?

So that is the standard. If a RB who averages 15-20 carries a game isn't getting to the 1000 yd mark, he probably isn't doing enough to help your team win. I will take a 1000 yd back any day of the week on my team.

Yeah, and we've got one! UNLEASH the BEAST!!!
With a better OC and the line in their second year,
Lynch will double that hopefully!

No, it's not. It isn't 1985 anymore. Get it through your thick head.
