Briere is a very good player, but he showed in the playoffs why a team shouldn't miss him. He melts when checked hard and often.

Nighthawk, even you have to admit the Sabres showed some heart last night. If they would have showed that heart against Ottawa it might have been a light different story. Maybe, just maybe, this team grew up a little last night.

They have been shopwing heart for the past 2-3 weeks.

How many games have they won in the 3rd period in that time frame?

They have also climbed back into the playoff hunt (with games in hand!). They will end up around a 4th or 5th seed (Since catching Ottawa will be very difficult).
