there is no boxing day in the US, but a lot of people took the day off. I'm at work and there's maybe 1/3 of the usual people here.

Entire week of Christmas to New Year is a holiday for some companies.
I prefer it that way rather than all of the little holidays which do not mean anything.

I wish my company did it like that! Hell I had to work Christmas eve and will have to work New Years!!! NO DEALS LEFT BEHIND! Must hit our #s! (oh wait my Vendor already has...)

BTW it is a big holiday in Hong Kong as well. I think it is one of those British things we declared independence of.
