The Buffalo Niagara Partnership has praised Congress' efforts to delay the controversial Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative border crossing document mandates until June 2009, but also warns the fight is far from over.
Congress, last week, in approving its 2008 Omnibus budget bill effectively delayed WHTI's tough and confusing border crossing documents mandates from this coming summer to 2009. However, the Bush administration said it still wants to implement the new mandates this summer.
It will be better for Bills so they do not lose ticket holders from Canada while the bugs and lines are worked out.
