A Win Or A Loss Against Philly?

Which would you prefer? A win or a loss against Philly...

A win in their final game would be a big confidence booster for the Bills' young players going into the offseason, especially after losing their last two games against Cleveland and the Giants...

But, with all of the teams current sitting at 7-8 or 6-9, a loss could improve the Bills' draft position dramatically, making it more likely that they will be able to fill a couple of their more pressing needs with potential playmakers in the draft.

Which leaves the Bills fan with a dilemma: with the team out of the playoffs this season, what would be best for the future of the team and, therefore, which would you prefer?

While it would be very difficult for me to watch today's game wanting the Bills to lose, on the other hand, wanting them to win could mean that instead of Malcolm Kelly, they would end up with Early Doucett; instead of Martin Rucker, they may end up with a TE with less potential; etc. What's a good Bills fan to do?

    What are your thoughts?
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.

I'll take the win to end the season.
I truly believe we have a ton of talent on this team, (including those on IR) it gives the illusion of us being in more need of the draft than we really are. We'll still have a good enough (early enough) pick if we win. They've got a tough job on their hands next year, when they have to sort through what we already have for talent. This team is gonna rock next year..I can feel it!

Plus, Fairchild's departure is a blessing.

Always a win.The Draft position always takes takes care of itself.

Yeah, you could have a #1 pick turn out to be a dud.

ALWAYS a win. NEVER hope for your team to fail.

The draft is a crapshoot anyway.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Re: A Win Or A Loss Against Philly?

A win puts us at 8-8 and although the record isn't good, I believe it will help generate a bit more of a buzz about this team this offseason. A team with a rookie QB, RB and all these injuries still finishing .500 isn't too shabby. Don't under estimate the value of perception; as it may mean the difference between a valuable free agent deciding to come play here.

IF we lose, we're guarenteed to pick between 11th and 15th in the draft. I dont know the exact tiebreakers as they stand right now, but we're more towards the 15th spot. However, a few of the teams tied with us have "gimme" games this week. We'll probably end up picking 12th or 13th.

Realistically? I don't see any way we win this game with Scott and Leonard at safety against McNab and Westbrook.

Truthfully? Again, my biggest hope is Edwards plays a solid game. I really won't be able to stomach the whole "we need a real QB" this entire offseason on this board.

I think if a win was the difference between getting Dorsey, or not, than that would matter.

I think if we really want somebody we can still move up and get them. Wins have impact and .500 is alot better than a losing record.

The game is important for Edwards. After 2 disappointing games he needs this for his confidence and next year.
