Per PFW-

BILLS PUTTING LIST TOGETHER

As word spreads that Bills G.M. Marv Levy is stepping aside, a league source tells us that the Bills already are compiling a list of potential successors.

Inside the organization, the candidates are director of pro scouting John Guy and assistant G.M. Tom Modrak. It's believed, however, that Modrak won't want the job, because he doesn't want to move from New Jersey to Buffalo.

Outside the building, the names that have surfaced are former Titans G.M. Floyd Reese, Chiefs V.P. of player personnel Bill Kuharich, former Texans and Redskins G.M. Charley Casserly, and Patriots director of college scouting Tom Dimitroff.

Reese wouldnt be to bad at all. At this point id take anyone associated with the pats.

Thier bus driver could apply for our OC job and id give him an interview.

That's what i'm saying. Give the pats guy a chance. They usually draft the right players.

if Scott Peoli has a 14-year old son, I'd sign him for a 60-year contract tommorow to be the GM.

Say how did the texans do under his leadership again?

So we can bring in Mr. 32% (10-21) in career starts? I don't think so! Even if Edwards is somehow not our future, JP will in no way be either.

Sorry to see Marv Levy retire. for what he has done up to this point.

Perhaps Marv will talk Ralph into spending some decent $$$ to get a stellar GM.

well we can clarify JP's 32%

take away 5 losses to pats EVERYONE LOSES TO THEM
1 extra win vs chiefs
1 extra win vs the jets

12-16 so 42% on this piss poor roster seems ok by me

but keep your blind hatred for your personal whipping boy as the measure for JP

all i know the sky is now falling for this roster and coach the do not have their protector to watch over them anymore.

BRING ON MARTY BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No surprise DJJIMKELLY started it with his "pimping" of JP.

Devin
12-30-2007, 09:37 PM
It didnt we all know JP is done, and justifiably so. Thats a pointless topic to debate.

As far as the GM goes, im skeptical we will bring anyone of subtance in but i guess we will see.

JP is not done as long is there is one coach/GM willing to pimp him. Rob Johnson and Ryan Leaf both got extra chances. You think there is not one psychopath not willing to do bring him on even if it is just to provide a tackling dummy in camp? He might even get picked up by Toronto team for I hear they like QBs willing to run for their life and the Toronto version of the Oakland Dog Pound would be able have a new poster boy / love doll.

Ron Wolf is available. Although he was sitting in a suite with Parcells at today's Fish game so he may be taking over Mueller's position tomorrow morning.

Wolf would be a great pick up if he were interested.

No JP is done. And in true Buffalo Bills fashion he will be traded for a 3rd rounder and go on to be a pro bowler.

I am pissed off that I truly believe something like this will happen.

So which psychotic pimp is going to risk his gonads and trade for him? I'd only think someone would trade for him that much if they had lots of tapes and has been salivating over him like a rabid dog.

I had forgotten that Floyd Reese be available. He has a history with Jauron, as he was a strength and conditioning coach when DJ was playing for the Lions. So that could be key a factor not to mention he did a pretty good job in Houston/Tenessee. As I also suspect Ralph would go with him because he's a safe pick vs a young up and comer who could be deemed riskier.

Whatever the case, thanks for Marv for being a class act for years. Admitadly, his tenior as our GM wasn't successful, he has done so much for this organization and city, we all owe a debt of graditute to this man. Thanks Marv!!!

BTW, I vote for Reese.

In true Buffalo Bills fashion, I have my sights aimed a little lower...

John Guy.

The hire wouldn't surprise me in the least, seeing the one thing Ralph has been cheap on is the staff. Sometimes it works, Knox and Levy and sometimes it's a train wreck...Bullough and Stephenson.

if we go outside the organization, I would love for Bill Cowher to be given both jobs or Marty. Realistic choice for outside the organization Casserly.

A team source tells me Jim Kelly is interested in team president.

OK, I just took that off the top of my head.

New GMs usually mean new coaching staffs.

This caught me completely off guard. I thought of Marv as kinda like the Bills God Father. Someone the Wilson family trusted to be in charge should Wilson die.

I have zero for suggestions, but I have enjoyed all of yours.

The thing that scares me about Casserly is he drafted David Carr with the #1 overall pick...I do give him credit with taking Mario Williams over Reggie Bush. It was a bold move that looks to be correct.

You know, I completely forgot about Modrak not wanting to move to Buffalo. That may play a bigger factor than what we think. Based on his adamant position in the past, I dont think, even now, he'd change his mind about leaving his residency in Fla. Interesting sidebar to ponder.

i'll tell you why that's the wrong idea in one word: Mangini.

In every great company there are always a few who are totally gaming the system to move ahead with little to no talent. I would suspect this would be no different.

If Casserly is good or bad, it remains to be seen, but don't give him the job just because he's associated with the pats.
