I thought Patriots fans were smart

On Sirius NFL Radio today The Afternoon Blitz they had a Patriot fan gloating over the perfect season. He said get this now:

"That a Patriot was a soldier in the revolutionary war, and that our soldiers are fighting a war in Iraq and Afgahnistan and the NFL will let the Patriots win as long as were in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting for our country. The soldiers want the Patriots to win" and the NFL is going to let them win".

Um hello, our soldiers that fought in the Revolutionary War were called Minutemen because they were ready in a minute not patriots! get your history notes straight. Patriots were the name of the colonists of the 13 Original Colonies.

I've always considered myself a patriot:

    pa·tri·ot
    n.
One who loves, supports, and defends one's country.

I suspect George Bush is a Patriots fan.

Back in the NAM war, a New England patriot was something you wiped your feet on, on your way to the playoffs.
