Jim Overdorf - VP Business (I think I have the right guy)

I thought we established that Modrak wasn't a contender, as he will not relocate to WNY...

And I almost forgot, we are such a high class and successful organization that on NFLN today Schefter talked about every team with an head coach/coordinator opening except ours. I'm so proud.

My guess is there will be no "official" GM at all.

2-3 clowns will "share" the duties.

You might be right. That is a typical crappy move that this organization usually makes. Another question I have...why does Jauron have such a say in the decision? This guy has done NOTHING to deserve more power or say over anything in this organization. These are the typical Bills organizational moves that prevent this team from moving forward. Mark my words...if they don't get a good GM from outside the organization, then we will be looking at another rebuilding period in another year or two.

In all seriousness, and not to get off target: I think Jauron would make one hell of a college coach.. SEriously.

Does Overdorf have an clue at all about talent evaluation?

If they put a "money/contract" guy in the GM role that that pretty much tells the fans that the team is being run to not lose money as opposed to competitive on the field.

Umm Dwight would have to be assistant to the General Manager. My vote goes to Overdorf with Guy getting named VP of player personnel.

Dick Jauron

That's my guess, too. Didn't we read that Jauron is already in charge of personnel moves?

What, exactly, did Levy do other than promote good feelings amongst all the people doing the actual work? Don't get me wrong, I believe that this team needed exactly that kind of philosophical change after the tainted feeling everyone had following the TD reign. So, job completed, Levy steps aside.

So, back to my guess of DJ as the new GM. He won't have to deal with an business administration, or day-to-day stuff. He just continues on doing what he's already been doing with a fancier title as Coach/GM.

Although I would like to see Gabriel in here.

Overdorf. Mordak stays on in his current role (as does Guy), but they will answer to Overdorf in the end. I think he'll do a good job, too.

Good stuff jokeman... assistant to the General Manager. Classic!

I'm changing my vote. Gabriel seems too perfect to pass up:

If Wilson stays within the organization, Guy, Brandon or Overdorf could be promoted. Modrak has taken his name out of the running. If Wilson goes outside, Chicago Bears director of college scouting Greg Gabriel has emerged as an early strong candidate.
Gabriel, who helped build two New York Giants teams that won Super Bowls and has a strong track record with the Bears, is a Buffalo native who began his NFL career grading film for the Bills in 1981. He loves the city, the Bills franchise and has a good relationship with Levy, Jauron and defensive coordinator Perry Fewell from their days in Chicago.
He has also drafted players for the defense Jauron is running in Buffalo. Most importantly, Gabriel isn't seeking a position of ultimate power and works well with people and since he's moving up the NFL chain, would be willing to work for a lot less money than say available ex-league GMs Floyd Reese and Charley Casserly.

Actually, I think it will be either John Guy or Greg Gabriel, but since those guys have already been picked by others, I thought I'd get creative. At least he'd be up front with players who just don't have it. "I don't think you could block your crippled mother, Kirk." With a British accent, of course.

gregy g for me.

guy is a good talent guy, and i think the guys left along with him can figure out the numbers stuff well enough.

buffalo guy who is a proven performer from the teams he's been on before, i think he is ready to step up and will be a solid bills guy.

I guess all he's ever drafted were Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman. Devin Hester and some of their other really good players - they went to the Super Bowl last season, which is a hell of a lot better than we've done in years - must have gotten there by osmosis.
