"We had some uncertainty there and all of a sudden we have new guys jump in and start doing what they were doing, and we ended up being first in punt coverage," said punter Brian Moorman. "That's pretty impressive in this league to be number one in anything. So I'm proud of them. They did a great job. Just like every other year they're making me look good."
While Moorman's modesty is admirable, the two-time Pro Bowl punter had a lot to do with Buffalo's top ranking. His directional punting skills as well as his placement on pooch kicks were instrumental in making his punts either easy to down or difficult to return.
"We were helped by having a great punter in Brian Moorman," said gunner Justin Jenkins. "He'd tell us where he was going with the ball and it was our job to get down there. But the work we'd do throughout the week and learning what the opponent was doing as far as fighting and holding us up we made it work for us."
