All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Ok now i do remember he was the first coord with the bears who was horrible .. Most people said he was in over his head in the NFL .. and that he was just a college coach...anyway he not leaving ...to come to the NFL.... shoop now at UNC was the guy that replaced him.
Crowton did a stint as HC of BYU and basically dismantled the offensive system that Lavell Edwards and Norm Chow had used to develop all of the top-flight QBs that they had there (McMahon, Young, etc.). The results were not pretty and he got canned.
According to ESPN the magazine, Crowton and Les Miles work together on the LSU offense: "Nobody knew which LSU offense to expect in the Aug 30 season opener. Would it be new coordinator Gary Crowton's pass-happy spread or Miles' run/pass power sets? Mississippi State D-coordinator Ellis Johnson found the answer--both--the hard way....". Earlier in the article it says: "At the beginning of every offensive meeting, Les Miles barks his mantra: Stay balanced. And his Tigers--218.9 rushing ypg and 229.2 passing ypg--listen." (Jan 14, 2008 edition, pg 70--sorry no link, I get it in hardcopy).
Crowton seems to me to be a much better fit at the college level and as an OC for a HC who will keep an eye on what he is doing. IMHO that's not the kind of guy that you would want as OC for the Bills under Dick Jauron who tends to give his coordinators a lot of control over what they are calling, especially on offense.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.
