...according to AP reports.

No link yet. News is breaking. So, post one if you get it.

I bet Gregg Williams gets a serious look. He was the Assistant Head Coach to Gibbs.

Interesting. He was insistant he wanted to return.

He will happier managing his NASCAR program than he will dealing with the NFL. (Even if Tony Stewart is a PITA)

The Yankees job was promised to Mattingly years ago, too.

I'm not saying Williams won't get it. But Snyder doesn't exactly have a history of loyalty to his employees.

I hear ya, but I wouldnt be suprised if they dont even interview anyone. Besides the required affirmative action interview.

This is a bit shocking. I thought Gibbs did a hell of a job, considering the circumstances. To get those guys to bounce back from such a tradgedy and win 4 in a row to make the playoffs is impressive.

Maybe Gibbs will be GM of the Bills? :snicker:

There's a buyout stipulation to GW's contract, in case he doesn't get the gig.

Turns out to be great timing for williams.. He's pretty much guaranteed of getting multiple HC interviews now and a big raise next year regardless of what happens.

If Snyder holds true to his word and gives GW the job he might as well just pay the fine. I hate that rule.

Gregg Williams will be offered the job but I would almost think that he would be better off going to Miami.

Washingtion is a "no win" scenario.

... and so continues the trend of HOF or high profile coaches failing after giving it a second go.

I think GW built that D those are his guys. I think he would want to stay.

He did and I bet they love playing for him. Not to mention he seems happy in Washington, 2nd time coaches often do well, and it doesn't hurt that he has spent time under Gibbs learning even more.

I'm not saying Washington would be good with him because of their style of taking players in the draft and FA, but I don't know if he would be terrible...again.

The article above says there is no bonus or buyout clause in GW's contract.

The turning point for Joe Gibbs must have been when he called back-to-back timeouts and GAVE us the game.

I know! And I'm laughing about it too. I still haven't forgiven him for SBXXVI with all of the mugging in the secondary and that ugly, pumpkinhead Rypien running around like he was the best QB in the history of the NFL.

Mikey is not handicapped unless you consider him too small for a OL.
