Combine this with Russ Brandon being named Chief Operating Officer and it tells me that there will be no new GM. They are simply dividing up the position.

they're dividing up by position- what you see is what you get, with Jauron being handed some additional responsibilities.

It's not going to work because the decisionmaking will be too decentralized.

no it can work. not saying it will be it can. ive been in organizations that ran that way and as long as egos are in check and communication is good it can work. quite well in fact. but humans being humans it usually doesnt. it takes a unique set of individuals. lets hope marvs shadow keeps influencing

Unless Ralph, himself, or Brandon has final say if a consensus cannot be reached on certain decisions. A lot of what Levy tried to do was consensus building and getting all of these guys to work together to come to a consensus. If they are able to do that on most of the big decisions, then, this structure could work with Ralph or Brandon serving as the final arbiter when they aren't able to come to an agreement. We know that Ralph has been involved in most of the big decisions under Levy and the GMs before T.Donahoe, so he's going to be involved anyway and Brandon is the "money-man" who is going to have to tell them if they are going to have the money to do things, so either way, one of those two could act as the arbiter.

It won't be easy to make it work, but it might be harder for Ralph to find someone who can come in and work as well with the people that he already has and trusts. And, if it doesn't work--if there aren't results on the field--in a year or two RW will have to blow things up anyway, so why not give this group a chance to succeed and, if they can't turn the team into a serious playoff contender, then RW can bring in a new GM to run the team for him (which he obviously doesn't want to do now because of the bad taste that Donahoe left in his mouth--and everyone else's).
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And, thus it was that they surrendered their freedom; not with a bang, but without even a whimper.

I dont see a three or four headed monster working really, I dont like the idea of the decentralized decision making and Im not that impressed with what any of these guys have done here to be comfortable in what they are doing.
