Barnes is only 27 why in the hell would we draft a 23 yr old to replace an already relatively young FB, and why so far have you only posted on the moves you support?

Actually, I read the write up from Chris Browns blog and I am NOT a fan of the 2 back system.

I remember how we used to run that with Sam Gash and Antwaion Smith and how it was used for the first 2 downs, every damn time, and then we went 1 back on the 3rd down. TALK ABOUT TELEGRAPHING YOUR PLAYS!

However, I went and took a stat look. All 3 of the top rushing RB's (yards) have a FB. And all 3 teams with the top rushing yards per game have a FB.

I like the thought of having more WR's wide and a singleback set more. But maybe its just Chris assuming we will be running a 2 back set rather than us actually doing it. I like the 1 back set due to spreading the defenders out which should allow for our RB to have more space to run.

We will just have to see about this move. But, I honestly cant say that there is someone out there that is such a stud we should have signed him as our OC.

Dude, we havent had the SB yet. We still have free agency and the draft. The move just shows us that we do plan to use a true FB again.

If the guy was so good why does he get cut?

No, if were serious about the FB spot, we will sign/draft one.

The fullback position is back for the Bills!Yeah baby. As long as we have addressed the glaring issues by the later third or fouth round. Assuming he is still there, because he might not be.

For those who haven't heard of the guy, he breaks facemasks quite often. And, he is a threat to catch, or pound it for short yardage. Actually he has even broke one or two long.

He is the best, most polished, blocking FB in the draft.

Hes good but no where near what we need. We just need someone that can block. It would be a waste of a pick getting him.

Good point. Why did shelton, Gash, Centers, tony richardson, and sowell get cut. I guess they suck.

Didn't you get the memo Schmidtt's a game breaking FB that can do everything in fact he's going to be so great. I mean he could be as great as Brian Leonard [/sarcasm]

Owen sure as hell aint a top 11 pick, and we have far bigger needs in round two than a fullback who will play part-time.

I don't want a fullback on draft day. There are plenty enough to go around in FA.

Send Dwayne Wright to Anchor bar every night to eat and he can pack on some pounds and be our FB...sounds like he aint going to do a damn thing as a fumbling RB.

Are people really that impressed we signed a Fullback? Folks, no offense, but this team doesn't need a fullback. It needs a big WR and a TE who can catch a 10 yard pass. I agree the H-Back system was crap, that was plainly obvious, but to bring in a fullback and call it a great move is pretty dumb. Considering that is a dying position, I think he'll only get maybe 10-15 plays a game.

I'd much prefer to see this team spread out the defense and let Marshawn run the ball with less LBs on the field. He has shown that it takes a number of DBs to bring him down, so why not open the field and give him the ball with more space?

Anyway, I've never seen a signing with very little if any significance get so much praise.

Anyway, I've never seen a signing with very little if any significance get so much praise.I'm excited we signed a FB. Not because I think this dude I never heard of is about to break records. But, because it is beginning to give me hope that our OC is competent. Why?

Our last coach had speed at wide out, and didn't like throwing long. He ran all the time on predictable downs, and rarely play actioned. We have moble QBs and rarely had them leave the pocket. We called predictable plays called and never changed it at the line. We had a smash mouth FB, got rid of him, and started with the H-back. We thought it would add versatility to the offense, and it was supposed to. Hear is a guy that can line up everywhere giving the defense different looks every down. Then we never used it.

Schonert said he was going to change all this. But, to begin with it is all talk. This is his first action to back up what he has said. A sign of things to come?

It is still early, but Rome wasn't built in a day. This signing shows me he is willing to change. Willing to scrap what didn't work.

Is this dude an all-pro signing? No, he is a sign.
