I say lose out and get the number 1 overall pick, that is the only way our **** head FO Quinn will allow us to get another potential superstar
i hate this ****, Darcy wake up stop pressin snooze

they have been terrible as of late, but for some reason i think that they will turn it around. I'm not saying that they will overtake Ottawa or anything, but I just have a gut feeling that they will finish strong at the end of the year and sneak into the playoffs.

We are at .500 and there are plenty teams well below...this is a crock.

It would still be a crapshoot for the Sabres to get the #1 overall pick (like the spin of the wheel that landed on #1 and the Sabres drafted Perrault)

Draft Order

The 14 teams that missed the playoffs during the previous NHL season hold the first 14 picks. They draft in order of fewest points to most points, subject to the results of the draft lottery (see below).

The Draft Lottery

The selection order in the first round is subject to a lottery, held among the teams that hold the top 14 picks. There is only one winning team in the lottery. That team moves up a maximum of four places in the draft order. The lottery is weighted to favor the teams with the fewest points. It was introduced to prevent a weak team from deliberately losing to guarantee itself a high draft pick.

Honestly, this team is the worst team in the league right now, so it doesn't surprise me. Nice going Quinn and Regier!

Record wise, we're not the worst.

Gameplay wise? Yea we suck hard.

how often do they do the power rankings? Over the last 3 weeks or so, the Sabres have been the worst team in the NHL. Just look at the L10 column in the standings: http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?service=page&page=StandingsPage

the only other team with less than 3 wins is the Rangers, and even they have 2, which is one more than us.

Overall, are we the worst? Probably not. But over the last few weeks, we've been playing like the worst.

less than a month ago when the Sabres won 6 straight, TSN had us in 4th place

Unless he wins his lawsuit, then he will be in the 2008 draft.

They are still talking that his lawyers are gonna try to get him eligible for 2008. He will have played 4 years in Jrs. One can hope.

and that's exactly what these power rankings are- they're a snapshot of who's good and who's bad at the moment they're written.

When we win 6 straight, we should be near the top. When we only win once in 11 games, then we should be at the bottom.
