I dont know... Does Ellis really fit into a 3-4 system? The guy is at most, only 290lbs.

Wow Rivers didnt even make the cut in the 1st round? That's because he's got dropping 4th rounders Frank Okam and Adarius Bowman going in round 1.. I didn't bother to check for more.

I was on a site that had players at each position and what round they should go in. Blame it not me.

I suspect Ellis would make a freakin awesome 3-4 end.

Keith Rivers is the best LB in the draft and he doesn't go in round one?

Ellis weighed in at the senior bowl this week at 308......He is a perfect Fit for the tampa 2 ...3 tech...He is not an end.. strictly taclke then end 6-0-308.....Def end in the 3-4 are usually 6-3 and taller-280-300 lbs

I think Davis the TE will be drafted within the 1st few picks of round 2 I would really like us to get him along with MK in the 1st and as long as we secure Evens for a few more years we could have a very formidable O for awhile course we need to upgrade at Center also

Hefney and Henderson haven't been flagged up as first rounders in any mock I've seen

There is no sign of Rivers or Jeff Otah or Pat Sims who many have on the cusp. Derrick Harvey is not in sight nor is Meadenhall

There is only 2 CB listed... what about Rogers-Cromartie, and Cason

Most people have Bowman in the 2nd round

And if the Raiders were to move up it would be to grab McFadden. Most have the fins taking Chris Long or Sedrick Ellis who has weighed in at 308lbs and can play NT. Ellis is grading higher than Dorsey so why trade up for an inferior player?

In the 3-4 scheme like Miami and Dallas the ends are usually bigger. For instance Dallas's ends are;

Marcus Spears-6'4, 305
Chris Canty-6'5, 299

Sedrick Ellis would make an ideal 3 tech DT in a 4-3 scheme or a great 3-4 DE

Henderson, Hefney, and Okam all make the 1st round but not Keith Rivers who may be one of the best pure athletes in the draft and arguably the number 1 LB...

Here's mine

1. Dolphins - Chris Long DE
There is no-one of big value to move up for. Long can play a 3-4 End
2. Rams - Ellis DT
Ellis goes here as Glover won't last forever
3. Falcons - McFadden RB
Could be anything but I see them going QB in R2 so they need a RB
4. Raiders - Dorsey UT
They need to stop teams running on them with Sapp's retirement
5. Chiefs - Jake Long LT
Never replaced Roaf. They will now
6. Jets - Gholston OLB/DE
A perfect end for their 3-4
7. Pats - Jenkins CB
A tough one ... I think they won't be able to resign Samuel
8. Ravens - Ryan QB
McNair or Boller? They'll plump for Ryan
9. Bengals -Rivers OLB
Their linebackers are shocking so need to bring in an upgrade
10. Saints - McKeon CB
They need a high pick here
11. Vikings (trade) - Brohm QB
Jackson convinces no-one so they get ahead of the Bears for their future QB
12. Broncos - Phillips FS
Lynch is 37 for goodness sake
13. Panthers - Clady LT
They also need to keep their QBs safe
14. Bears - Williams OT
They couldn't run or keep heat off their QB
15. Lions - Rogers-Cromartie CB
They simply need to replace someone/anyone in their secondary
16. Arizona -Johanthan Stewart RB
James won't last forever and his production is slipping
17. Bills -Connor LB
With the depth at WR and DT, they plump for Poz's old team mate
18. Texans - Meadenhall RB
After the calamity of Ahmed Green they look at this again
19. Eagles -Baker LT
You'd want Justice as your LT of the future?
20. Bucs -Jackson WR
A replacement for Galloway
21. Redskins - Campbell DE
Taylor needs replacing but they cannot pass on this guy
22. Cowboys - Smith FS
A weakness in the current team
23. Steelers - Otah RT
A local lad allowing them to rearrange after Faneca's departure
24. Titans - Kelly WR
A big target for a Texan QB
25. Seahawks - Davis RB
Alexander is at the end of his career
26. Jaguars - Merling DE
They like big DE's and need new energy here
27. Chargers - Likely will trade out, but if not I think they'll go best player left and plump for Derrick Harvey DE/OLB
28. Cowboys - Cason CB
They complete the rejig of their secondary
29. 49ers -Balmer NT
They need to upgrade in the middle of the 3-4
30. Packers - Talib CB
With aging CBs this is the best guy left
31 - FORFEIT
32. Giants - Sims DT
An upgrade over Robbins

I've got the WRs slipping. With so much depth is draft, teams won't pull the trigger on them early.

Why Balmer as a NT, he plays right around 290-300 pounds

HAMMER

What the hell is plumping?

kernowboy
02-14-2008, 10:25 AM
Plumping - taking

I've seen Balmer listed as 308lbs and at 6ft4 he's got the frame

I think Kernowboy's is closer. I'm not entirely convinced the Viks are ready to give up on Jackson. And, I'm not convinced that if they did, Losman wouldn't be a better solution for them. But, I would welcome a trade. What pick do you anticipate them giving us in addition to their 1st in return?

kernowboy

As the Vikes have two 3rds I believe, I'd expect a 2nd.

Both the Vikes and Bears could trade up for Brohm - I see the Vikes wanting to move up more.

With a powerhouse like Peterson, they cannot afford to have him beat up with no threat through the air
