Falcons named Mike Mularkey offensive coordinator.
At least this staff will have some substantial NFL experience. Mularkey isn't a sexy hire, but he's been a head coach before and will have complete control over the offense under defensive minded Mike Smith. Mularkey's play calling has been inconsistent, but he's mostly favored a power run scheme and likes using trickery. Atlanta holds the No. 3 overall pick in April, and TD-tossing Darren McFadden will likely intrigue him.

I actually think this might be a good move by ATL.

Incredible. I can't wait to read the sports page of the AJC the first time the Falcons run a HB option from the 2 at 3rd and goal.

Announcer: "And Atlanta is 3rd and goal at the 2 yard line with 8 seconds left, trailing by 4. The play comes in and (name of un-jailed QB inserted here) breaks the huddle. You can sense the tension in the stands as the Falcons approach the line.

(name of un-jailed QB inserted here) is now under center... wait, hes now backing up into shotgun formation, and the entire line has shifted completly to the right side of the ball! Now the center goes into motion.... not sure if all this is legal, but you have to expect something with Mike "WildMan" Moolarky call the plays in this explosive Falcons offense...

The center sets now and the split back now goes into motion approaching the center, stops does three jumping Jacks and then turn and heads teh other direction... now a pidgeon flys in and lands on (name of un-jailed QB inserted here) shoulder, flaps twice and takes off down field... I'm sure its all part of this play...

The play clock is winding down with no sign of a snap count yet... what is going to happen next? Oh, wait every linman has now turned and face away from the defense and is now in 3 point stance with their buts in the air tword the defense...

Play clock now at 3.... 2.... Wait! Time out is called from the Falcons bench...lets see what is happening now..

Oh, MY! this word from our sidline reporter... Mike Mooolarky has just sent word that he is QUITING in mid play!

We'll break for commercial and come back after this time out..

Gilbrides problem was totally different than Mularkeys. Gilbride knew what he was doing and what he wanted to do with the offense. Mularkey looked absolutely clueless, not to mention Mularkey was never the OC for the Bills.

Like the Bills did which gave them a TD this year?

Michael Vick. . . Bobby Petrino. . . and now Mularkey? Haven't the Falcons suffered enough?

Or when the Patriots hired Bellicheck after his fine coaching job in Cleveland.

one of the few times that a Bills fan and a Dolphins fan can equally laugh at another franchise because of a shared negative experience

You guy's do realize with all the disrespect you show MM, he was the last guy to coach the Bills to a winning season? You guys show DJ more respect and he can't get you over 500.

Sort of, but we did take a lot of crap from the Steelers fans when he was hired in Buffalo. Sort of the same things that Bills fans are now saying about Atlanta.

I have more respect for what Jauron did with a bunch of rag tags who should be playing in the Arena League than Mularkey who had a bunch of Pro Bowlers who couldn't get along.

Due to the injuries we sustained this year, which were the most in the NFL, Jauron gets my respect for how he held the team together.
