The Pewter Report is reporting that Nathaniel Hackett, son of Paul Hackett and currently an assistant with Tampa Bay is going to take a job with the Bills. He's currently the offensive quality control coach of the Bucs and his dad Paul is the quarterbacks coach there.

There is a connection there as Paul Hackett was Alex Van Pelt's coach at Pitt. We'll see what happens. I would assume if he's given a job with the Bills that it will be the same job he has right now offensive quality control.

In addition to those two coaching needs, Bucs quarterbacks coach Paul Hackett’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month and he isn’t likely to return.

Word out of the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. was that Nathaniel Hackett, who is Paul Hackett’s son and has served as Tampa Bay’s offensive quality control coach, was going to take a job with the Buffalo Bills.

I wonder where the elder Hackett will end up.

That has to assume that the Bucs are releasing him or his contract with the Bucs expired. We all know the familiar NFL rule that coaches under contract may only move to another team if it involves an advancement.

I think that Mary Owen, Vice President of Strategic Planning really derserve a promotion to GM. She's done a fantastic job in her duties with the Bills and has been with the organization for over ten years now. (more than Russ Brandon)

She has earned the promotion and will help move the team in a positive direction through her experience. She has worked with team ownership as an advisor on league level issues as well as all philanthropic matters. (the latter of which trumps everything else within this organization apparently)

She has also worked as the Director of Business Development for the organization's sister company, Ralph Wilson Enterprises! She brings a wealth of experience to the role of GM and the organization will benefit from her diversity and breadth of experience.

OR

Linda Bogdan will be promoted to GM. Formerly the VP and Assistant Director of College Scouting, having been with the organization for over 20 years as the league's only active female NFL college scout, has had an integral role in the franchise's college and professional scouting departments. She has scouted collegiate games during the season and bowl games, all star games, and scouting combine activities for the Bills.

The Bills are fortunate to have someone such as Linda as their GM and can expect the team to move forward under her leadership.

Now, for as ridiculous as all that is, if the organization had put that out, the same people supporting the moves this season would have been raving about thse for one reason or another, ... while the league laughed even harder than is is now, silently of course.

The more the merrier!

I'm all for gambling on the players managing themselves given what the rest of this organization does.

Might be cool to get both of them.

He is no longer listed on the Bucs website.

Offensive quality control coach. I heard part of an interview with Turk on 97 Rock On Friday morning and he kind of spilled the beans about the younger Hackett getting the job.
