The New York Daily News has heard talk at the Super Bowl that the Jets are gearing up to make a "serious run" at impending free agent Asante Samuel.
The Jets made a play for Samuel last offseason while he was wearing the franchise tag, and coach Eric Mangini is known to be close to the Pro Bowler. Samuel, who has 16 picks over the last two years, figures to command Nate Clements type money. The Jets will be in decent shape under the salary cap.

Revis, Samuel and Rhodes all in one secondary.

Jesus. I wish this guy would land outside the east.

Unfortunately, I think that is the most likely scenario. I really like Asante, and he is a top CB. He wants Nate Clements money and will probably get it.

If it does happen, he will make the Jets defense a lot better. They do need more help up front, though.

Very true, if we can add him, get a good NT in the draft, team Vilma and Harris together, we have a revamped core!

Dwayne Robertson not cutting it? It seemed like he was a pretty good player...
